As part of the ongoing Black River Local School District Facility Enhancement Project, the district will be making updates to the school’s athletic facilities for the 2017-2018 school year. The updates will include the replacement of existing fencing, visitor bleachers and the exterior metal siding of the field house. A tree line will also be removed to begin the installation of a new driveway.
The existing visitor bleachers are not ADA compliant. These bleachers will be removed and sold to an outside organization in order to offset costs. The new bleachers will be ADA compliant, allowing Black River to host events for organizations that require ADA compliant venues. Along with the replacement of fencing and siding for the field house, the committee repaired and painted the track, bring it up to Ohio High School Athletic Association compliance standards. Local business members volunteered their time by cleaning up around the pond on the district campus.
All projects are funded by financial donations or donations of supplies and resources.
“All of these projects are being completed without the use of tax payer dollars. We are truly grateful for the generosity of the donors in our community,” said Superintendent Chris Clark. “Without their donations, none of this would be possible.”
