Black River Local School District Permanent Improvement Levy Approved by Voters

Thank you! The 1.4 mill permanent improvement (PI) levy has passed! The levy will allow the district to maintain and update district facilities without increasing taxes.

Thank you to everyone who voted for the levy, especially those who helped communicate its importance. Being able to maintain this funding will allow the district to make needed updates and repairs to our facilities so that we can continue to offer our students the best possible learning environment.

A PI levy is used for the installation of items that have a lifespan of at least five to seven years and cannot be used for salaries or wages.

The district plans to use these funds on projects including flooring, window repairs, new lockers and doors at the high school, paving, heating and cooling system updates, roof repairs, security cameras, classroom updates and lab equipment.

The Black River Local School District is committed to fiscal transparency and the responsible use of taxpayer dollars. Without increasing taxes, we will be able to maintain our facilities for years to come for the benefit of our students.
