Black River’s choir ended the year with their annual Festival of Choirs On May 16. Festival of Choirs showcases each choir's growth made over the course of the school year. It was the district's fourth annual event.
Featured in the concert were performances from the sixth-grade choir, middle school chorus and the high school concert choir. In addition to these groups, who perform concerts regularly throughout the school year, each year alumni are invited back to perform in a mass finale with the current choirs.
It is a wonderful concert that brings in alumni, recognizes graduating seniors and highlights both middle and high school programs together.
As this is the final concert of the school year, senior choir members were recognized during the high school portion of the concert, and senior choir president Sydni Moherman directed the mass finale, "Why We Sing."
One Black River Middle School students said, "Festival of Choirs is my favorite concert because I love getting to sing with all of the grades together for the final number. I look forward to coming back as an alumni to sing in the future."
