Black River High School to Host Dessert and a Show

Black River High School invites you to enjoy Dessert and a Show on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The Black River High School Drama Club and the Black River Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) are working together to host this event.

“I’ve always wanted to do some sort of a dinner-theater performance so I approached our FCCLA adviser Mrs. Demczyk and asked if her group would be interested in teaming up to do this production,” said Julia Borkosky, director and publications adviser at Black River High School. “The Drama Club students have been working on their parts since early September and are looking forward to performing. This is our first attempt so we hope the community supports our efforts.”

The Drama Club will present the one-act plays “How to Kill a Mockingbird,” “The Perfect Diet” and “Heads Up” and FCCLA will prepare a dessert buffet for guests to enjoy. Tickets for the event are $10 and can be purchased from Borkosky, FCCLA Adviser Jenny Demczyk or from the high school office.

"Our FCCLA organization loves to partner with other clubs and organizations to encourage stronger community ties,” said Demczyk. “We are looking forward to creating sweet treats for this event.”
